Our clinic provides IFHP dental services for refugees and newcomers in North York and the surrounding GTA. We are a registered IFHP provider offering emergency and routine dental care six days a week, with same-day appointments and walk-ins welcome. Our team speaks both English and Farsi, so you can be understood and informed throughout your visit.
The Interim Federal Health Program, or IFHP, is a Government of Canada program that gives refugees access to basic medical and dental care during their first months and years in Canada. For dental services, IFHP covers emergency treatment for pain relief, routine check-ups and cleanings, fillings, extractions, and certain types of dentures.
Our clinic is a registered IFHP provider. That means refugees can come to us directly for covered dental services, and we handle the IFHP paperwork and billing on your behalf. You do not need a referral, and you can walk in for emergency care six days a week.
If you are not sure what your coverage includes, call us or come in and our team will help you understand what is covered before any treatment begins. Many of our staff and dentists speak Farsi, so the language barrier is one less thing to worry about.
Starting May 1, 2026, the IFHP program covers up to 70% of eligible dental service costs for refugees. The remaining 30% is the patient’s responsibility and is due at the time of the visit. We will give you a full cost estimate before any treatment begins so there are no surprises.
If you have questions about your coverage or what your portion will be, call us before your visit and we will walk you through the details. Payment options are available for patients who need flexibility on the 30% portion.
Dr. Alireza Kamali leads our emergency dental team and is registered with the RCDSO. He works alongside Dr. Najmeh Alishavandi, Dr. Ardeshir Ranjbari, and Dr. Farokh Asefzadeh, all RCDSO registered. Our team speaks both English and Farsi, and we have extensive experience providing care under the IFHP program for refugees from many countries.

The Interim Federal Health Program covers several groups of people during their early time in Canada. You may qualify for IFHP dental coverage if you are in one of the following situations.
Coverage usually lasts for a set period after your arrival or claim, and the exact length depends on your immigration status. If you are not sure whether you currently have IFHP coverage, bring any immigration paperwork you have to your visit or send us a photo when you book, and our team will help you check before any treatment begins.
Even if your IFHP coverage has ended or is still being processed, we can still see you. We accept most major insurance plans, we are a registered CDCP provider, and we offer payment options for patients without coverage. The most important thing is getting you the care you need.
Our clinic provides a full range of dental services for refugees under IFHP coverage. Below are the services we provide most often.
Same-day care for severe tooth pain, broken or knocked-out teeth, abscesses, and oral injuries.
Treatment for infected teeth that saves the natural tooth and ends the pain.
Simple and complex extractions, including wisdom teeth, when a tooth cannot be saved.
Restoration of decayed or damaged teeth so you can eat and speak comfortably.
Full and partial dentures to replace missing teeth, with IFHP covering certain denture types.
Regular dental check-ups every six months to catch problems early and maintain oral health.
If you have questions about whether a specific service is covered under IFHP for your situation, call us and our team will check for you.
